Chapter 113 "Mr. Foster, Rowan asked. this really isn't proper. Who will take responsibility if something goes wrong?" A female doctor assisting him chimed in as well, "Mr. Darrell's condition is extremely critical. I don't believe traditional medicine can bring him back from this." She added sharply, "To let some young woman fool around in the ER and waste precious rescue time isn't something our hospital can afford to take responsibility for." In the eyes of these modern doctors, all practitioners of traditional medicine were charlatans.

And this masked woman, who was clearly still a student, looked even less reliable. Compared to their ten to 20 years of medical experience, her presence there felt like a complete joke. Owen's emotions were in turmoil at the moment. Even though Valerie and he attended the same university, they were barely acquainted. Like him, she studied biological science. She was someone who spent her time in labs researching pharmacology, not treating patients. He'd only turned to her out of desperation, betting against heavy odds.

Yet, something deep inside him whispered that she might just be worth believing in. Faced with the growing hostility from the doctors, Valerie's patience wore thin. "Can none of you manage three minutes of silence?" The female doctor retorted, "Do you have any idea how precious three minutes are for a critical patient?" Valerie tore open Darrell's hospital gown, exposing his chest, and ripped off all the monitoring electrodes.

She said coldly, "It's exactly because I know how precious those three minutes are that I'm telling you to shut up." With a flick of her pen, there was a flash of silver, and a handful of needles slipped between her fingers. In one swift motion, she drove the needles in the right points with practiced precision. The doctors stared in shock. Not even Owen had expected her hands to move so fast. Rowan grew agitated. "Miss, this isn't the time for personal heroics! You'd better stop now before you make things worse.

We won't be able to shield you from responsibility for this mess if the patient dies!" Valerie shot him a sideways glance. "Aren't I the one cleaning up your mess? The patient was attacked while he was under your hospital's care. You'll be the ones responsible if that gets investigated." Her words were calm but sharp, and they caused the entire medical team to fall silent. After completing her treatment, Valerie walked over to the water dispenser and drew a few drops of water into a paper cup. Then, she dropped a white pill inside before swirling it gently.

When the tablet fully dissolved, she tore open a sterile syringe and drew up the liquid. Then, she slowly injected it into the corner of Darrell's mouth. Owen was just about to ask what she had given him when, suddenly, Darrell coughed. The sound shocked the entire room. Owen shouted, "He's responding!" The doctors stared in disbelief. Just moments ago, the patient had shown no signs of life, and he was seemingly about to die in a matter of minutes. And now, he was coughing. The two doctors who had criticized Valerie the most looked utterly stunned.

They were unable to believe what they were seeing. Valerie ignored the astonishment around her. She grabbed a trash bin and sat by the bedside. Lifting the weak Darrell, she murmured in his ear, "Don't hold it in. Vomit." As his consciousness returned, Darrell turned toward the bin and vomited violently. Thick, blackened blood poured out in several bursts. One by one, the silver needles stuck in his body turned dark brown. Only when all the needles had fully blackened did Valerie remove them. Darrell was pale and trembling as he clutched his chest, looking around in confusion.

"What happened to me?" The doctors were speechless. A genuine, inexplicable medical miracle had just taken place before their eyes.
