---- Chapter 19 Ethan's POV "Take her down," I ordered again. The guards moved in, grabbing Lilith by the arms. "No! Ethan!" She fought them with all her might. "The baby in my belly is innocent!" "Innocent?" I scoffed. "So was Marcus." "That's different! This is your blood!" I stopped and turned to look at her. "Lilith, let me make one thing clear." "What truth?" "There is only one woman in this world worthy of carrying my heir," my voice was deathly calm. "Only one woman worthy of the title Luna. And it was never you." "But I'm already pregnant..." "'So what?" I waved my hand.
"Take her away." The guards dragged her toward the basement. "Ethan!" Her screams echoed down the hall. "You'll ---- regret this!" The door to the pure silver cell slammed shut. I stood in front of the monitor, watching. Lilith pounded on the silver walls, her palms quickly burning. "Let me out!" she cried. "I'm going to die in here!" Pure silver is poison to a werewolf. Prolonged contact leads to organ failure. Especially for a pregnant female. I watched, my face a stone mask, as she screamed. Then, a dark stain spread across the pristine white of her gown. Blood. So much blood.
She realized what was happening and stared at the blood in horror. "No... no..." She clutched her stomach, trembling. "The baby..." But the bleeding only got worse. She collapsed to the floor, curling into a ball of agony. "Ethan..." Her pleas were broken sobs now. "Please... the ---- baby... save our baby..." I watched the life drain from her. And felt nothing. "Ethan!" Her voice turned hysterical. "You monster! You won't even save your own pup!" The baby was gone. There was no more life inside her. But she was still alive. Barely, but alive. "Why. me..." " she moaned weakly.

"Why are you doing this to I activated the intercom. "Because you were never worthy," my voice echoed in the silver cell. "Not worthy?" she suddenly erupted, using every last bit of her strength to scream, "Do you know who's really not worthy?" "Who?" "You," she spat, pointing a trembling, blood~smeared finger at the camera. Her eyes were twin flames of pure hatred. "You, Ethan Blackwood! You think I was the poison? You were the disease!" ---- "What do you mean?" "You never loved her," she shrieked, a mad glee in her eyes. "You only ever wanted to own her. To possess her like a trophy.
That's why my lies worked. Because they fed the paranoid, possessive monster you already were!" "Are you finished?" I asked calmly. "No!" She slammed her fist on the floor. "Marcus's death, Lydia's pain, you caused all of it with your own two hands! And now you're trying to pin all the blame on me? You're disgusting!" She gasped for breath, her eyes burning with hate. "Yes, I used your paranoia. I drove a wedge between you. But if you truly loved Seraphina, if you truly trusted her, there's nothing I could have done!" I let her accusations hang in the poisoned air. They were all true.
Every last one. Aslow, dark smile spread across my face. It probably looked monstrous. It felt liberating. "You're right," I said, my voice soft as death. "I ama monster." I let the admission sink in. ---- "So what?"
