keeper 136 Summary In Chapter 136 of "Keeper," we follow Coban as he navigates through a facility while bleeding profusely from a facial injury. The blood trails behind him, serving as a deliberate distraction to draw attention from the guards. Coban's determination to reach the infirmary quickly becomes apparent as he pushes past guards who question his injury, maintaining a casual demeanor despite the pain. He understands that violence is the only way to communicate in this environment, and he uses his injury to his advantage, hoping to reach the suits that hold the power.
As Coban arrives at the infirmary, he encounters a doctor who is both surprised and concerned by his condition. The doctor attempts to make small talk, mentioning a girl he assumes is important to Coban, which he quickly dismisses. Despite the pain and the urgency of his situation, Coban remains focused on his goal, insisting on being treated swiftly. His interactions reveal a mix of bravado and underlying guilt, especially regarding the nurse he is trying to see, who has helped him in the past. The atmosphere shifts as guards escort Coban to the main infirmary.
He remains on edge, aware that he must maintain control of the situation. As they enter the sterile environment, Coban's anxiety heightens when he realizes that the nurse he is seeking is not visible. He feels a sense of desperation, knowing that he might have jeopardized everything for nothing if he cannot find a way to connect with her. Inside a small private room, Coban is confined, feeling trapped and frustrated. He reflects on the possibility of his injury being in vain, questioning whether his plan will succeed.
The chapter ends with a sense of tension as Coban waits for the doctor, his mind racing with thoughts of what he needs to accomplish and the risks he has taken to get there. The emotional weight of his actions and the stakes involved in his quest are palpable, setting the stage for what is to come. " That looks like you got run over by a truck , not an accident . " A 63 " Then maybe you should let me through so I don't bleed out on your shift , " I shot back , pushing right between them without slowing .
One started to raise a hand as if to stop me , but the other hissed , " Let him go you really want paperwork if he passes out here ? Or his damn father paying you a visit ?! By the time I reached the infirmary desk , my head was pounding like a bass drum . It hurt like hell , but I didn't give a shit . Pain was useful . Pain made the lie believable . Pain would open the doors I needed . So I slammed my palm down on the buzzer . " Yeah ?
" the doctor's muffled voice called through as he unlocked a nearby room and exited - snapping on a fresh glove . He looked up , startled slightly by the sight of me ... " Christ , Mr Santorelli ! What've you gotten yourself in to now ?! No girl with you either ?! Is she ... is she well ? " He blundered , eyes wide as my brows dropped at the sudden accusation . " Nothing to do with her , she's fine ! " I shot back instantly , " Will you just send me through to the infirmary ? " I snapped impatiently , as he opened and closed his mouth like a fish out of water ... " Well uh ...

it does look broken ... did you get into a fight ? " he asked , moving across to the phone on the wall . " Something like that , " I muttered . " Just fix it . " He huffed , grabbing a wad of tissues from the counter to pass me , before lifting the phone off to his ear . " I swear , you're in here more than half my staff . " He chuckles , as I shrug . I watched him wait for the other end to pick up , as I pressed the tissues up to my nose and hissed at the sharp sensation .

I toss the mass of red tissue in to a nearby bin before he moves to pull more for me as I grumble a thanks ... " She's fine . " Is all I give , but I knew his words were true . She was a good one . Heavy footsteps echoed down the hall before the doctor could shove another wad of tissues in my hand . The guards . Two of them . " Mr. Santorelli ? " the bald one barked , glancing between me and the doctor . " That's him , " the doctor confirmed , stepping aside like he wanted absolutely no part of whatever was about to follow . The taller guard eyed the blood staining my face and shirt .
" Come on , you're heading up to the main infirmary . " Then , with a raised brow , " Do we need to handcuff you ? " I rolled my eyes so hard my head throbbed . " No cuffs , " he grumbled under his breath to his partner . " Let's just get him up there . " I followed the guards through the secure door , into the elevator with a keypad .
One typed in a long code , slow enough for me to catch the first few digits . The elevator hummed upward , metal walls gleaming , the blood dripping from my jaw creating a small red dot on the floor below . The guards marched me down the hall , past multiple open bays as I scanned each one - quick , sharp glances - searching for that familiar blonde ponytail . No sign of her . My jaw clenched . No sign of anyone I could use . " In here , " he instructed .
I stared at the small private room - the clean bed , curtain , disinfectant stench . " I don't need to take up a whole room for a busted nose , " I complained , staying firmly planted in the doorway . " Just patch me up out here . " " No , " the guard snapped . " Sit . Wait .
