Chapter 156

Tracy smiled confidently. "Grandma, I'm only just getting started. I will climb even higher up the social ladder in the future."

Sonia beamed with happiness, knowing that Tracy was an exceptional girl capable of bringing honor to the Tate family. Wayne and Hazel shared in her joy; the more qualifications Tracy possessed, the greater her chances of marrying into a wealthy family.

It was then that Sonia noticed Celine standing behind Tracy. Her expression darkened. "Celine, who invited you here?" Celine had already been present for some time, but they had been too engrossed in their celebration to notice her until now.

Tracy glanced at Celine. "Grandma, I invited her because she wanted to gain some experience. It’s alright; she can stay here."

Sonia had no desire to see Celine at all. While Tracy and Carly had the potential to elevate the Tate family, Celine only embarrassed them. In her mind, Sonia had never truly regarded Celine as her granddaughter.

Since Tracy had already spoken, Sonia could only respond in a displeased tone. "Celine, you’ll need to be very cautious. Don’t touch anything here; if you do, you’ll have to take full responsibility!"

Celine’s heart tightened at Sonia's words. However, she remained silent, merely smiling.

"Tracy!" Several students from Yorhine University rushed over, all eager to congratulate her. They had sought her signature the day before and were excited to see her again.

"You came?" Tracy exclaimed joyfully, as the students surrounded her, inadvertently pushing Celine into a corner at the back.

"Today is the day of your academic thesis public showcase. We’re all here to congratulate you! You’re our pride and joy!"

"Let’s take a photo!" They quickly arranged themselves around Tracy’s academic thesis, with her at the center. Sonia, Wayne, and Hazel stood to her left, while the students gathered on her right.

Tracy handed the camera to Celine and said, "Celine, take a picture of us! This moment of glory is about to be immortalized."

Celine looked at the camera in her hands and smiled. "I can’t take this photo."

Tracy was taken aback. "Why not?"

At that moment, staff members from the Museum of Medical Sciences approached. "Excuse us, please make way. We need to take this academic thesis down."

Tracy stiffened. "Why are you taking down my academic thesis?" Sonia, Wayne, and Hazel were all taken by surprise.

“Did you make a mistake? Is there some misunderstanding?” they asked.

"This isn’t a mistake, nor is it a misunderstanding," Dr. Chad interjected. "There were two mistakes in this academic thesis, which is why the Museum of Medical Sciences has decided to remove it."

Upon hearing this, Tracy inhaled sharply but found herself frozen in place. The students began to whisper amongst themselves. "This can’t be true! Tracy was contacted by Dr. Chad? Her thesis was rejected by the Museum of Medical Sciences!"

The group quickly dispersed, murmuring their disappointment. "Tracy, we have other matters to attend to. We’ll be taking our leave."

With that, Sonia turned to Tracy, her expression filled with concern. "Tracy, how did this happen?" The confidence that had previously radiated from Tracy now faded, replaced by a dawning fear.

There were indeed two errors in her academic thesis, and Dr. Chad’s verdict loomed over her like a shadow. Her moment of glory had turned into a mockery. She felt a sinking dread knowing that people would be gossiping about her failure for a long time to come.
