< 16 Big Sky History +25 Points Big Sky History FREYA POV The room is huge. I could fit 3 of my huts in here! I dragged my suitcase over to the closet that was empty and began unpacking. The dinner was going to be starting in a couple hours so I set out an outfit on the bed that I felt was appropriate for the battle. Tonight one of our pack gammas, Curtis, was to fight. It is customary that the Alpha family sit ringside during the battles of our packs to show support.

When the Alpha Games were held at our pack a couple years before my mother made a big deal about any night one of our pack members was to fight. I'm rather surprised I haven't heard from her today about it. I walked into the bathroom to put some of my hygiene products in there. I checked out the shower to see if I wanted to take one before dinner. It's huge and very inviting so I obviously had to say yes. I walked back into the room and was surprised to see Colt laying on the bed. I didn't even hear him walk in.

"Do you mind if I shower before dinner?" I asked, honestly I'm not sure why I did. He just caught me off guard. I felt like I needed to say something and that was the first thought I had. He was laying on the bed with his hands folded up behind his head. Gosh he is so handsome! He always wore jeans or shorts, no shirt, and no shoes Though, when I looked in his closet he had shoes and shirts and even coats in there. Maybe this is just his summer attire. He chuckled, "Freya, you don't need to ask.

This is your home now." I stood against the door of the closet nervously, "I know, it's just going to take some adjusting." The room had a massive window that let daylight in and the bathroom had a wide thin window letting light in. There's lanterns in the bedroom and in the bathroom, I imagine that's for night time. There's no TV or real lighting since they don't use electricity. All the furniture is wood, a much nicer wood than the hut I was in. "Can I ask you something?" I stepped over to the bed to have a seat next to him. I think this is my side of the bed since he's on the other.

"Of course." he rolled to his side holding his head up with his hand. "Why does your pack live without electricity? I think you're the only pack I know that lives this way, not that it's a bad thing. I'm just curious." I've been wondering about this since I heard of this pack. Everyone always says it's because they're uncivilized but after meeting him and some of his pack, they seem rather civilized. 1/3 < 16 Big Sky History +25 Points "My family has always been the pack leaders since this pack formed thousands of years ago.

We've had some humans in the pack before, we called them familiars." he rolled to his back continuing to answer me. He looks so comfortable around me, I wish I could feel that way. "Those humans have brought a lot into our pack. Lanterns, seeds for food we never had, utensils we probably wouldn't have thought of on our own, and more. When electricity became a thing they brought it here. Tried to show the pack how to use the light instead of a torch or lanterns." his face grew a bit humorous as he smiled. "The alpha at the time had an oracle, something we don't use anymore, I'm not sure why.

The oracle told him that electricity would be the end of our pack. That it would bring in evils we've never known." he laughed."So he banned it and all a phas since have done the same." "So you've never been tempted to change that?" I asked. "When I was a teenager I took off for a couple days went down to a town and worked for this guy that gave me $200. I asked what I was supposed to buy with it. He told me to get whatever I wanted. Cigarettes, alcohol, porn, even said I could probably find a prostitute." he looked disgusted.

"I was a teenager from this pack I had no idea what those things were, never even had a haze yet. Well besides alcohol we make mead here so I knew what that was. So, I went and found out. I was disgusted. Maybe it's the way I was brought up, but those things just didn't sit right with me." I admired this about him. In school, guys always showed off pictures of naked women on the internet, snuck off to smoke and do other drugs, and many had s*x before they were even haze age! A lot of people get drunk and get violent, which for wolves often leads to death.

Hearing him as a teenager not being interested in that gave me some hope about him. "I came back and asked my dad why we didn't have those things, not that I wanted them but I was curious. The humans seemed to live off of that stuff." He looked over at me, "he said that it was all of the technology. Man made it to ease their lives, but with ease comes another type of hardship." "Hardship?" I asked. "Addictions." he responded.

"There hasn't been a rape in our pack in almost a hundred years, and even then that was a human that raped a young pack member before she had a wolf." he continued, he had a passion about this that I didn't understand, but I wanted to. Maybe it would help me get through the idea of living without technology. "We don't have s*x addictions, we don't have drug addictions, we don't have alcohol addictions, we don't have people glued to screens too lazy to hunt harvest or cook. I think that's the destruction of our pack that the oracle spoke of back then." he finished.

I guess I never thought of that before. I've always had technology. Was I addicted to it? The idea kind of seemed weird to me. 2/3 * 16 Big Sky History +25 Points "That's an interesting way of thinking." This life is going to be a hard adjustment. I just like being able to talk to people whenever I want, take pictures, and listen to music. "I'm going to shower, do you need anything in the bathroom before I go in there?" I asked as I stood and grabbed the outfit I set aside. "No, thank you." he said looking at me with humor. I quickly walked in and closed the door.

There's no lock, damn apparently this pack doesn't believe in locks on doors! I started the shower and began undressing. Once the warm water hit my body I started feeling a bit too warm, but it wasn't the water. Another damn haze. There's never been this many in a haze season before. I heard the door open then Colt opened the shower and came in, completely naked.
