---- Chapter 248 "Lena..." Frederick tried to reach out, but his hand froze in midair. No matter how far he stretched, he couldn't touch her. It was as if there was some invisible distance keeping them apart, even though she was right there. "Lena... "If you don't want to die, it's best to shut your mouth and save your breath, Your Highness." Selena didn't even turn around. With a single sweep of her spear, aclash of steel rang out, and the chilling force pushed the pack of black wolves back a couple of steps. She was a master of unparalleled skill! William was stunned.
Frederick froze for a moment, then a cold dread filled his chest. He truly knew nothing about Selena. He hadn't known before, and now... Did he still have a chance to start over with her? But Selena didn't glance at him once. The wolf pack had been forced to retreat, but she knew all too well how vicious they were. Their temporary withdrawal was ---- only to buy themselves time and study their prey. Once the right opportunity came, they would surge forward and tear their prey apart. Selena swung her spear in a single, fluid motion. With a whistle, something exploded in midair.

"Protect your prince!" The words had barely left her lips before several black wolves leapt at her. "Lena, watch out!" Frederick tried to rise, but his anxiety sent his blood surging violently, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood. Selena ignored him completely. With a flick of her spear, one wolf was hurled aside. Her slender figure sprang into the air. The wolves surged to where she would land, waiting to tear her apart the instant her feet touched the ground. Frederick's heart raced again. He could tell that Selena's Lightfoot Skill far surpassed his own.
But no matter how skilled she was, she couldn't remain suspended in midair forever. Once she landed, the wolf pack would overwhelm her. What would happen to her then? "William, go help her!" ---- Even the wolves seemed to realize that Selena was the true threat, barely paying any attention to Frederick and William. Wolves were cunning creatures, especially this pack of black wolves. They seemed to understand instinctively that if they could kill this one opponent, the other two were nothing to fear.
William gripped his sword and tried to rush to Selena's aid, only to be pounced on by a black wolf at the edge of the pack. No sooner had he taken a step than another black wolf lunged at Frederick. William didn't dare move another inch! These damned creatures were far too cunning. Frederick's heart raced with anxiety. However, Selena didn't even need to find solid ground. With a single flip in midair, she dove down, spear in hand. Boom! The force of her strike sent several wolves flying, slamming them hard into the ground. They struggled to rise, stunned.
The rest of the pack recoiled, clearly shaken and forced to take a few cautious steps back. Selena remained standing in front of Frederick and William, her slender frame braced against the wind. She appeared delicate, yet her stance was as steady as a rock. ---- Frederick couldn't even put his emotions into words. A wave of deep frustration and despair washed over him. Her inner energy was so immense that even if he trained for another ten years, he could never reach her level. And she had been by his side all these years, never once revealing her true strength.
"Is it because | said | didn't like you practicing martial arts?" Frederick asked, his voice heavy and hoarse. Watching her graceful back, his chest ached. She stood calm and composed, and every movement she made was precise and powerful. With the spear in hand, she radiated strength and authority. To Frederick, she seemed untouchable and completely out of his reach.
