Chapter 7 As for Sophie, she followed a similar path to Justin. The Lawson Group's legal team closely monitored her case, and she also faced prosecution. Her parents emptied their savings to hire the best attorney they could find. But every argument they had collapsed in the face of the unedited livestream video. The court's decision came quickly. Sophie would serve her sentence, and she would face whatever "care" awaited her in prison. Alex personally came to pick me up when I was discharged from the hospital.
I changed out of the hospital gown I had worn for more than two weeks and slipped into a cream-colored dress. I looked at myself in the mirror. My complexion was pale. The mark from the breathing tube lingered at my throat. A small bandage covered the burn on my forehead from the candle. But something deep inside me had changed. I had no fear and no longer felt dependent on anyone anymore. Only a fierce clarity and resolve remained within me. "Are you ready?" Alex asked from the doorway with a soft smile. "Yes." I nodded. When I stepped out of the hospital, the sunlight fell warm on my skin.
I drew a deep breath. My chest still felt a faint pull, but I felt like I was born anew. Owen handed me a folder as we got into the car. "Miss Lawson, these are the disciplinary actions taken against the other students involved that night." I opened it and skimmed through the pages. There were seventeen people in total. Every one of them had been expelled from their university. Their parents had also received letters from the Lawson Group's attorneys that demanded public apologies and compensation for the emotional damages their children had caused me.

"I already donated all the compensation money in your name," Alex said. I closed the folder and said softly, "Thank you." "You're my sister. Protecting you is my responsibility." He reached over and ruffled my hair. His voice was comforting and warm. 1/2 Chooter ? +25 Bonus I caught sight of a familiar figure as the car drove past the university's entrance. It was the girl with the heavy smoky eye makeup from that day. The one who had pointed at me and said I would not even get to clean the Lawson Group's toilets. She stood alone by the gate, looking dazed.
All the arrogance she used to wear as a badge had vanished. She saw me. Our eyes met for a brief second before she lowered her head and fled in a panic. I looked away without even a flicker of emotion. Did I pity her? Perhaps. But these were the direct consequences of their own actions. When they chose to stand by, participate in cruelty, and rample on another person's dignity and life, they should have been prepared for this outcome. Every one of them was responsible, not just Justin and Sophie. I felt no sympathy and offered no forgiveness. My only goal was to live my life to its fullest.
I wanted to let the world know that they could not mess with me and get away. I was not just Alex Lawson's younger sister, but I was my own person. Support Share 2/2 admin
