Chapter 4 Alex's voice put an end to the noise and frenzy in the private room. Justin's smile froze on his face. His arm halted midair with the phone still in his hand. The barrage of comments on the livestream was still ongoing. They seemed like an affront in the lingering silence. Sophie stared blankly at the man standing in the doorway. Alex's presence felt sharp enough to cut the air. Her tear tracks had not even dried, yet her eyes filled with fear again. The friends who had been laughing and egging each other on only seconds earlier shrank back one by one.

Their shoulders hunched as if they wished they could flatten themselves against the wall and vanish like wallpaper. "Alex..." I lay on the floor and forced out a faint sound. He strode toward me and lifted me carefully. When he saw my cream-smeared face streaked with blood and the blister swelling on my forehead, his expression darkened as if his anger was about to explode. "The doctors will be here any moment," he said softly in a trembling voice. He took a handkerchief from his pocket and gently wiped the mess from my face. Justin finally reacted.

He shut off the livestream with a guilty flick of his thumb and put on a tough front. "Who do you think you are? How dare you barge in here? Don't you know this is a private party?" Alex did not look at him. Instead, he said to the bodyguards behind him coldly, "Break the hand he used to hold that phone." "Yes, Mr. Lawson." The two guards moved toward Justin. Justin's face drained of color. He staggered backward. "What're you doing? My dad is the chairman of Miller Construction! Don't you dare touch me!" But the guards did not pause. A sharp crack split the air.

Justin screamed so loudly that his voice nearly scraped the paint off the walls. The hand he had used to hold his phone dangled grotesquely. His phone clattered to the floor, and the screen shattered. "Ahh!!! My hand! My hand's broken!" He held his arm and rolled on the floor in pain. The scene shattered whatever courage remained among the others in the room. Sophie dropped to her knees with a dull thud. Her entire body shook like a leaf caught in a storm. "I... it wasn't my fault! Justin... he was behind everything..." she stammered as her words spilled over themselves.

"I was only celebrating my birthday... I didn't know..." 1/2 Chapter 4 +25 Bonus Alex looked down at her. His gaze was cold and devoid of any emotion, like he was examining a corpse. "You didn't know?" He picked up Justin's broken phone and handed it to another bodyguard. "Recover the full livestream recording. Don't miss even a single second. Then, call the police and let them handle this. "Also, find out who everyone in this room is. Notify their schools and their parents. "Tell them that my sister nearly died at their party." His words turned every face in the room a ghostly shade of gray.

At that moment, a team of doctors and nurses rushed in with a crash cart. A doctor hurried to my side to examine me. "This patient just had thoracic surgery. There's a risk of recurrent pneumothorax! There are signs of airway burns and foreign-body inhalation. She needs immediate debridement and oxygen! "Prepare for intubation!" Following the doctor's instructions, Alex lifted me into his arms and carefully placed me onto the emergency bed. "Sally, don't be afraid.

I'm here." He leaned down and whispered into my ear, "Everyone who hurt you will answer for it." As I was being wheeled out, I passed by Justin, who was still screaming on the floor, and Sophie, who had collapsed like a puppet whose strings had been cut. Their eyes were filled with fear and despair. I knew their judgment had only just begun. Support Share 2/2 +25 Bonus admin
