---- Chapter 7 Harriet, Warren, and 1 all trudged back home. Once again, Harriet and Warren acted like they could not stand each other. Warren lay in bed all day and cursed at everything. He called Harriet an old hag and blamed her for his disability. Meanwhile, Harriet cursed at Warren for being useless. She blamed him for bringing me to the wedding that day. She would have been married to a rich man already if it were not for him. I was used to their constant bickering, so I closed the door and focused on my skincare routine.
Strangely, every time I put on my products, the spots on Harriet's face darkened, and more wrinkles appeared on her face. As for me, I did not become any younger. I still looked old and worn. Whenever Harriet saw me using skincare products, she would scream and rush over to snatch them. "Don't use that, you little wretch! I forbid it!" She broke down and sobbed uncontrollably as she looked at her old and wrinkled face. That was not the end of it. ---- I picked up my old hobby again and learned new dance moves from girl groups My figure did not retum to its original slim self.
Still, I was glad that I had not gained weight. Meanwhile, Harriet's waist widened again, and stretch marks marred her belly She could only plead with me to stop what I was doing Ilooked at her coldly. I smiled and asked, "Do you really think you have the right to tell me what to do?" She was furious. "I'm your mother, and you're my daughter. Of course, I can tell you what to do!" I found that hilarious. "I've never seen a mother spend years scheming to destroy her own daughter.

If you won't act like a real mother, why should I act like a good daughter?" Harriet gritted her teeth and said, "Don't you want to know how you can get your looks back? Don't you want to know who gave me that bangle? Do as I say, and I'll tell you!" I glanced at her and said indifferently, "Don't waste your breath. Someone's doing that investigation for me." Harriet snickered. "You still have faith in Gordon, don't you? Look at yourself! He'd sooner run away from you. Do you really think he'll investigate?" I smirked at her.
"Didn't you use to say that I was born to be ---- pretty, that no man would be able to resist my charms?" My younger brother, Jared, suddenly ran toward me and shoved me. "You're so mean! Don't be mean to my mother" Thad watched this little punk grow up, tending to his every need. Even so, I did not hold back from slapping him. Jared cried and wept. Harriet shrieked and pulled him into her arms "Have you gone mad, Emery? How dare you hit your brother?" With that, she and Warren were back on the same side. " You're such a useless piece of trash!
Do you think you can hit your brother just because I can't hit you now? Just wait until I get better. I'll kill you!" Ibeamed and threw a paternity test report at him. "Open your eyes and take a good look. Is he really your son?" Harriet's face went pale, and she immediately lunged to snatch the report away, but it was too late, Warren had already seen the result. His expression was stormy when he asked, "Is Jared really my son?" Harriet blinked sheepishly. She steeled herself and said, " Didn't you say you wanted a son? Does it matter whose he is?
It should be good enough that he has your last name! The doctor said your sperm was bad, so there was no way for me to get pregnant with you involved." ---- Warren was furious. He wanted to move but could not. He could only hurl the report at the two He shouted with all his might, "Take that ill-begotten trash and get out!" Harriet rolled her eyes. "You're crippled. I don't want to take care of you either." She took Jared, walked out, and slammed the door behind her. After they left, Warren slumped back into bed.
With a whine in his voice, he said, "Emery, you're all I have left in this world now.
