Chapter 555 Their Job Elder Jensen's p.o.v. 41% Finished Venetia and I are slowly connecting the dots; this has been an elaborate ruse to keep us from finding the truth. We know that the deceit started after Dyala left the Palace and her Father discovered the truth abo necklace. We haven't found a single report that deals with that part of the story; it almost looks like it was kept the records on purpose. What would we uncover if we had an answer to that question?

I decided to leave that question for another time and to concentrate on finding out which Elder hid the truth about Dyala. After all, hiding the truth didn't change anything in the end; Dyala didn't want to return to the Palace. My Grandfather had been forced to stay home, my Grandmother was going through a terribly difficult pregnancy and the King ordered him to stay with his Mate and unborn child. My Uncle was their second child and everyone expected Grandma to throw in the towel.

My Grandparents had three more children after my Uncle, making him the only boy as their other four children were all girls. Grandma used to tease him that she had a difficult pregnancy because he was a boy. but luckily, he knew that Grandma would go through it all over again if it meant having him in her life. Like Venetia's family, mine has gone through all the papers we have from the time that Dyala went missing. They have kept me informed about their progress and don't like what they have found so far.

We are still trying to put all the pieces of this puzzle together, but if it goes where I suspect it is going, then we have a huge problem. She could probably get the King to answer questions, even if he would be reluctant to answer those questions if they were asked by anyone else. Our Laws are lacking in many ways and it is my job to inform King Vaughn and the other Elders. I doubt every Elder will agree with changing most of our Laws, but protecting everyone within the Kingdom is necessary.

A few names jump to mind when I think about who might be against any changes in our Laws and they have a way of twisting everything to their advantage, bu I have a trick up my sleeve to ensure that this problem will get the attention it needs. I hope King Vaughn and Crown Prince Quinlan are willing to listen and think about how our Laws don't fully protect every Shifter in this Kingdom.
