---- Chapter 6 Yvonne's eyes widened, despair and regret filling her gaze. "Twas wrong, Will. 1 know I was wrong..." she wailed." Please, I'm begging you. For the sake of what we once had, let me go this once..." "Let you go?" Tloosened my grip, pulled out a photograph from my pocket, and tossed it onto her face. The picture showed me carrying Yvonne on my back when she passed out drunk in the snow five years ago. "yvonne, I gave you a chance. You destroyed it with your own hands." With that, I turned and walked out of the basement. Oswald followed behind me and asked softly, "Mr.
Guzman, how would you like to deal with her next?" I stopped and looked out the window. The sky was already darkening. A cold smile played on my lips. "Isn't her business the most important thing to her? Let's help her out, then." Less than ten minutes later, global financial news outlets ---- began reporting on Singer Tech. "Breaking news! Singer Tech was hit by a mysterious financial giant. Stock crashes by 99% overnight, triggering an emergency trading halt." "Just in! Singer Tech's core technology was allegedly stolen from a Sinter Valley lab.

The company faces exorbitant damages." "Major update! Singer Tech's largest shareholder withdraws funding and files a lawsuit against founder Yvonne Singer for corporate fraud." "Singer Tech's capital chain collapses. The company enters bankruptcy liquidation as all partners terminate contracts." Each headline was like a death sentence. Yvonne's business empire, her pride and joy, which she had worked so hard for in the past five years, came crashing down just like that. I watched the basement's live feed. When Yvonne saw the news too, she madly cursed me.
This was the success she wanted so badly. Now, I was making sure she saw it clearly. "Mr. Guzman, your parents have arrived," Oswald ---- reported. I immediately stood up and walked toward the door. The door opened, and there stood my travel-worn parents, Bernard Guzman and Joyce White. The moment Mom saw me, tears poured from her eyes as she rushed forward and pulled me tightly into her arms. " My foolish son! You've suffered so much. Why didn't you tell us?" Dad stepped forward, too. He didn't say anything, but his bloodshot eyes were filled with pain and fury.
He patted my back, his voice deep and steady as he said, "From now on, no one will ever dare mess with the Guzmans again." Wrapped in Mom's warmth, the five years of suppressed emotions I had kept in finally broke free. I cried like a child. After I calmed down, Dad pulled me to the couch and said, "Will, tell me. How do you want to deal with those animals?" His voice carried pure rage. "Just say the word, and they'll be gone by tomorrow." I shook my head. "Dad, letting them die so easily would be too kind." Dad understood it and nodded. "Alright.
We'll do it your way." ---- He then glanced at Oswald, who immediately got the message and withdrew. Afterward, we had our first family meal together since my return. At the table, my parents didn't mention Yvonne once. They just kept placing food onto my plate and talking about how much they'd missed me over the past five years. Later in the afternoon, Oswald returned. "Mr. Guzman, the Singer and Malcom families are kneeling outside, begging to see you." I set my coffee cup down and laughed coldly. They had come to beg? It was too late. "Let them wait," I said indifferently.
"I might consider seeing them when I'm in a good mood." "Sure," Oswald replied. I then remembered Francis and Zoey. "And those two?" I asked. "As per your instructions, they're being held in the room next door." Oswald's voice was cold. "They've already seen the news about their family businesses. They're not handling it well." ---- "Bring them here." I wanted to see just how arrogant they could be now that their family empires were gone.
