Chapter 6 David never expected I'd actually leave him. Furious and shocked, he immediately ordered his men to find me. However, that was when he realized he barely knew a thing about me. He didn't know my hometown, my family, or what I liked. His men searched everywhere but came back empty-handed. David sat on the couch, a wave of guilt washing over him. It was something he had never felt before. He thought about all the moments we'd shared, about everything I had done for him, and a twinge of regret crept in. Sophia, knowing he hadn't gone to the office that day, came to see him.
"What's wrong, David? You look awful." When she found out I'd left, she stepped forward to comfort him. "David, don't worry too much. Vivian's probably just acting on impulse. She'll be back." However, while she said the words, the delight in her eyes was impossible.to hide. If I was gone, wouldn't that make it easier for her to become Luna? When Lucas heard I'd left with Joseph, he didn't even bother to hide his excitement. "Yes! That low-class she-wolf and her brat are finally gone! I never have to see their ugly faces again!" His words made David's expression turn gloomy instantly.
"Lucas, how can you say that? Vivian is your elder, and Joseph is your brother! How can you be so poorly raised? Is that something you should be saying?" Sophia was embarrassed and tried to smooth things over. "David, he's just a pup. That's not what he meant. Don't take it to heart." David's expression stayed cold. He said nothing more, but in his heart, he knew Lucas' attitude had everything to do with her. He glared at her as he warned in an icy voice, "Sophia, don't covet a place that isn't yours. My Luna will always only ever be Vivian.

You'd better understand that." Sophia froze, shocked by David speaking to her so bluntly. "David, how can you say that to me? I'm Lucas' mother! I'm doing everything for him-" "Enough!" David cut her off coldly, disappointment flashing in his eyes. "Sophia, I'm warning you. If I catch you disrespecting Vivian or Joseph again, I won't go easy on you." Terrified by how cold David behaved, Sophia didn't dare say another word. However, to vent her anger, she pulled out her phone and sent me a string of texts. Sophia: "Vivian, you worthless bitch!
You're finally gone!" Sophia: "I hope you die out there and never come back!" Sophia: "You're nothing but a low-class she-wolf! You're not worthy of David! I'm the only one who's truly fit to be his Luna!" After hitting send, she felt much better. She thought now that I was gone, David would be hers. However, she wasn't aware that I hadn't left out of spite. I left because of the Wolf Spirit Degeneration, and I was dying. David's men searched everywhere for me but found nothing. Just when he was about to lose hope, one of them brought back a lead. "Mr. Hayes, we found out that Ms.
Lloyd once went to consult Dr. Lavine." David's eyes lit up instantly, and he had them bring Catherine to him. "You mean you didn't know?" Catherine's expression was full of disbelief and reproach. "You're Vivian's mate, and you didn't know she has Wolf Spirit Degeneration? Her condition is severe. She doesn't have much time left." David felt like lightning had struck him when he heard that. He stood frozen in place, unable to believe the news. The she-wolf 1/2 who had always been so gentle and timid with him was dying from a terminal illness.
Unable to accept it, he went into a frenzy, mobilizing the entire pack to look for me. He searched every corner of the city, asked everyone he could think of, but there was still no sign of me. When he finally returned home, exhausted both physically and mentally, he stopped just before opening the door because he overheard Sophia and Lucas talking inside. "Mom, Vivian's finally gone. I'm so happy!" Lucas' voice dripped with glee. "Keep it down. Don't let your dad hear you." Sophia's voice was lower, but there was the same unmistakable pride in her tone. "But you're right.
That jinx should've left ages ago. She has no looks or family background. What right does she have to be Luna? 11 "Exactly! You're way more suited to be Luna, Mom. Now that she's gone, Dad's bound to realize how great you are." Their words were like a knife, stabbing straight into David's heart. Shaking with rage, he shoved the door open. "Sophia! What the hell are you doing?" Both Sophia and Lucas jumped, spinning around. When they saw David's stormy expression, they instantly went silent. She paled as she quickly hid her phone behind her back. "David? You...
you're back?" David snatched the phone from her hands and saw the texts she'd sent me. Reading those vile words, his expression grew even gloomier. His eyes filled with fury and disappointment, and he slapped Sophia hard, knocking her to the floor. "How dare you treat Vivian like this!"
