So she had other beastkin at home? I wasn't surprised. ---- What surprised me was how ungrateful the beastkin was. So what if they were show- quality beastkin? Those were good for nothing but serving people. I took the initiative for the first time that night. I didn't understand humans well enough, so I kept my eyes fixed on her face, watching every expression unblinkingly to be sure she was comfortable.

In the end, I ended up making her cry. I tossed and turned all night. I'd made her cry on the first night she brought me home. What if she didn't want me anymore? I woke up the next morning to find her already gone, and I felt my heart sink further. I then opened the door to see that shameless beastman sniffing all over her. What an idiot. He didn't even notice me behind him. No wonder he was getting sold. Then [ ended up accidentally breaking a fork. Mr. and Mrs. Manfred didn't look too pleased. Besides, with him around, I seemed more loyal, more handsome, and definitely worth every penny spent on me. 1 overheard the two idiots arguing. Lisa's voice was so shrill. Maybe it was genetic. Oh, right.

Layla brought me for genetic testing. She said I couldn't call myself low-grade anymore. It turned out I had descended from show- level beastkin, ---- too, but I didn't want to be a show- level hound. I just wanted to be Layla's most loyal dog. While Layla was having a smoke, that asshole went and tried to seduce her. He was either always crying or jealous. He was so worthless. What an eyesore. The setup was successful. I finally got rid of him. Layla discovered it was me who did it, but she didn't blame me at all. This must've been what they called "favoritism". I wasn't exactly intolerant.

I was merely helping her solve her problems. Layla said she didn't believe in marriage, but that was okay. It was enough for me to stay by her side as her dog, wagging my tail and loving her forever.
