Love Crumbles on the Wedding Eve

---- Chapter 10 Both men fought so viciously that even the guards didn't know how to step in. Tt wasn't until I rushed forward and took Simone's punch that they finally stopped. He stammered, "Zoe! I'm sorry... I didn't mean to..." I forced myself to ignore the pain ripping through my back and ignored Simone. Instead, I walked over to Rosario, took out a silk handkerchief, and gently wiped the corner of his mouth. "We're about to get married. You can't afford to get disfigured. And this cut here... He wiped the blood from his lip and said, "It does hurt a little." He then noticed the bruise forming on my back, and his eyes darkened. "Which hand did he use?" "The right," I replied. "Okay." Rosario pulled out a pistol and shot him without hesitation. Simone let out a blood-curdling scream as blood gushed out from his arm. In an instant, he lost his strength and crumpled to the ground. I watched indifferently as his face twisted in agony and despair, and then coldly looked away from his pleading gaze.

At that moment, Simone finally realized how the woman who once panicked more over his injuries than her own and once loved him wholeheartedly no longer cared about him now. He had lost her, and it was his own fault. In his haze, Simone closed his eyes in utter despair. ---- On the eve of my wedding, Papa called to inform me that Simone had been driven into bankruptcy. "Do you regret leaving the Salvatore famiglia, Zoe?" I chuckled and replied, "I don't." Even if I could do it all over again, I would make the same choice-all because I wanted to marry the person I loved. ---- Simone was my mistake.
