A Decade’s Reunion novel

---- past, she was apologizing over and over again. Every time I saw a message, I blocked her number, but she would just find a new one and start the cycle again. Over and over, endlessly. Eventually, she started claiming she was sick, begging me to come see her. Hey, I was not a doctor! I finally had to change my number. And at last, I found some peace. Then one day, I ran into her at the hospital. "Alex, are you here to see me?" Sophia came running over.

Dressed in a hospital gown, her frame was thin and frail, a shadow of her former self. But what did that have to do with me? "No, I'm here with my wife for a checkup." The light in Sophia's eyes dimmed. She tried to say something, but her words were disjointed, as if her mind was unraveling. Maybe it was the ---- illness. She started talking about our past again. I cut her off. "Sophia, do you even realize you' re rambling?" She froze, as if trying to process what I just said.

Just then, Catherine walked over. I quickly went to support her. "Careful, honey! Don't rush like that!" "Relax, I'm only two months along." "Still, we should be careful. I don't want you to go through any hardship." We walked out of the hospital together, laughing and chatting. "Honey, let's switch to a different hospital next time. Otherwise, we'll keep running into old faces. " "Alright!" ---- Even though she was pouting, I felt a deep sense of happiness.

As we reached the door, I heard Sophia shout my name from behind, "Alex! What do I have to do for you to come back to me?!" I didn't stop. I would never go back to her. What was in the past should stay in the past. I should focus on cherishing the life I had now.
